Welcome to IFTA – Proudly developing competent artisans since 1982

IFTA was established in 1982 by the Anglo Alpha Group. It was privatised in 1998, and has been under new management since April 2008. The head office is situated in Roodepoort. It has a satellite operation in Crown Mines in association with Tool Quip & Allied, and a second operation in KZN in association with NCP – CIMPOR. The company has recently been awarded a contract in the Northern Cape to run a technical training facility for ASSMANG.

Ikhaya Fundisa Techniskills Academy works on an open entry open exit basis to offer clients flexibility. The vast majority of the IFTA Learners are from corporate entities.

Typically the learning provided by the academy is broken into three phases. Phase one and two comprises approximately 12 weeks and phase three eight weeks of institutional training. At the end of each phase where the learner successfully completes his or her training they are issued with certificates. Prior to writing trade tests, Learner/Artisans return to the Academy for one – two weeks trade test preparation, followed by them writing their trade tests.

The academy bills clients for the training provided on a monthly basis offering 30-day terms.
